Catching up to current events.

I got my first MRI, just the other day (routine, something to see if there would be a need for a biopsy, which I could have gone ahead and done but chose to avoid unless it turned out to be necessary). I’d heard about people having trouble with claustrophobia; I don’t believe myself to be subject to such, but this didn’t seem to be a good time to discover I did. So, I closed my eyes before they sent me into the ring, listened to music through the provided earphones, and didn’t open my eyes again till they were done. No problems, no issues.

Weight loss continues. I reached my first benchmark, and have been working to keep from gaining back before I start for the next level. The regaining is slower than the loss, but it’s steady and relentless. My hope is that it will get easier as I progress farther.

Susan and I are now looking at being gone for six weeks this summer, probably slightly more: three in Spain, for the tour, and then back to China with Kevin and his family for another three weeks. And — one point of previous concern now settled — we found Susan’s passport and confirmed that the 10-year visas to China we acquired pre-Covid are again valid.

An issue we always have to deal with: finding a place for the dog while we’re gone. On the plus side, there’s only one now, where previously it was as many as three; on the minus side, the dog we still have is diabetic, meaning extra requirements for care. Susan seems to have found a setup that will work, but we won’t know for sure till closer to departure.
