We’re probably looking at ANOTHER delay in our long-term travel plans.

Susan went to see a chiropractor today. Her problems with mobility had increased to the point where it was already likely we’d need to acquire a wheelchair to get her around for most activities, since she can’t walk more than a few steps at a time (and even that hurts constantly).

The good news: the chiropractor told her he could have her walking freely without pain, given proper treatment.

The less-than-ideal part: he said the necessary treatment would stretch out over six months. For which, of course, we’ll have to remain in this area.

We just can’t get out of here.

We moved into the motorhome three months ago, but have managed to spend only a month of that actually going anywhere. Returning here so she could finish out her emergency substitute instruction was going to cost us two months; the planned chiropractic will add another four months to that, and get us to the nine-month point before we’re ‘free’ again, that presuming there won’t be another unexpected impediment.

We’ll see. We’ll see. Her continuing decline had reached the point where we probably would have had to end our travels after a year; this could actually extend our time. All the same, we just keep getting hit with one thing after another (this will make the third such delay).

It’ll be nice to reach the point where we can use our motorhome to GO anywhere. If we ever do.
