Fandom Snowflake Challenge #2

In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private. Leave a comment here saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Well, does anyone ever post ‘goals for the coming year’ that doesn’t include losing weight? I managed to drop nearly 35 pounds last year, then (following hospitalization and Christmas stuff) let about 10 trickle back on. So I still have a bit to go, but will be working with a record of past success.

Some years ago, here at the Snowflake Challenge, I posted a list of fics I intended to write that year, with the notion of averaging one per month and 12 for the year. I knew I could do it, but then life (and I) started doing other things. I actually managed four of them that year, and a few since then; however, five of the planned fics from the original list — shown here — still remain, and I’d like to see how many of those I can manage. Nice if I could do them all, but I’ve learned not to get overconfident.

Plus, there’s the whole ‘looking toward retirement thing’, and the ‘getting rid of the rest of our stuff and moving to Asia’ thing (kind of necessary for the ‘spend time with our granddaughter’ thing, being as she’s in China). I also have to do some cardiac rehab, which will reduce free time in my days off. Those are on the Goals side of things, but they’re also something that could serve as obstacles to meeting my fic-writing goals.

(Met one of my 2022 goals already: I got that haircut my first free weekday off. Goodbye, graying ponytail!)

That's impressive weight loss, but with that record of past success, I'm sure you can get rid of those pounds again.

Good luck with that and all your other goals.

Sound like worthy goals. I'm trying to stick better to my exercise routine. I'm beginning to realize my new, heavier weight is my new normal but I refuse to slip farther.
