And it just keeps on coming!

 
When it rains, it verily pours. I’ve already commented on my recent nominations at the Gotta Have Faith Awards (October 14) and Sunnydale Memorial Fanfiction Awards (October 18). Now I have a new e-mail advising me of a slew of nominations at Round 9 of the Running With Scissors Awards. Whoever likes me, likes me a LOT.

This time, the list is longer. My cup runneth over, indeed!As is my standard statement when I receive nominations (but have I ever before been set up at three separate sites in the same month?), I urge everyone to go, check out all the stories nominated there, submit your own favorites for nomination, and cast your vote for the most deserving candidates.

Thank you. I’ve actually received a certain amount of recognition over the years (see this link). It was never enough at once to make me feel like a sudden major presence, but I at least was given reassurance that people here and there did genuinely like my work.

I suppose the main issue right now is strictly timing: that I should have ten nominations, for seven stories, at three relatively well-known award sites, all in the same month. If they had been staggered throughout the year, it wouldn’t have made quite the same impression on me. Back in August of 2002, I had five stories take eight awards at two sites, more or less simultaneously, but that was years ago and I no longer have quite as many people visibly following my output as used to be the case. So I was surprised, and yes, hugely gratified.

You wouldn’t have had anything to do with any of those nominations, would you?
