The triumph of wishful thinking over recognizeable reality goes global.

Honestly: when I first heard the news, I genuinely thought it was a parody announcement. Apparently some people, and organizations, are now beyond parody.

I thought the same, but when you see previous winners you realize it's a pretty worthless prize. Reaction here has been pretty much Huh!

As you might remember, our ideas on politics in general and "global foreign policy", as it were, in particular are quite different. However, I can't disagree with you in this case.

Apparently, all you need to do to get a Nobel Peace Prize is (a) get elected and (b) make a few statements on how everything is going to be hugs-and-puppies-y. One can't but wonder why they didn't give one to every single president of every single country of every single planet of every single galaxy of every single universe ever.</Dr. Cox>
