Susan and I will drive about an hour and a half on Monday, to be in a proper place to watch the coming total eclipse. (Bought a couple of pairs of eclipse glasses today for the event.)

Susan’s dog is showing signs of dementia (including, but not limited to, unpredictable incontinence … almost always on the furniture). Susan is checking end-of-life care for the dog; not happy about it, but years as a nurse taught her that something can be undesirable and still unavoidable.

My youngest brother found out recently that he’ll become a grandfather this year. I and my other brother already have grandchildren, but this will be the first for that third brother. I’ve attended any number of family reunions; it feels weird to realize that the three of us, our current wives, our kids, and their spouses and kids, could throw together a semi-decent reunion of our own, nearly two dozen people. And that’s with all of us marrying relatively late.

Oh, and video coming to us from China today: my son and his family getting KFC by drone delivery in one of the parks.

Life remains what it is.
