Fandom Snowflake Challenge #7

Make a list of fannish and/or creative resources. Leave a comment here saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

The resources I’ve been using for years haven’t really changed much, except in those cases where something I once used is no longer available. Anything I list, then, will pretty much be something I’ve named before, but for anyone who’s new:

I use [livejournal.com profile] su_herald as my main tracker for what’s currently going on in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer fandom.

As far as fanfic writing goes, I long ago downloaded transcripts of all the Buffy and Angel episodes, and still consult them. For those who haven’t taken that step, episode summaries and transcripts can still be accessed at BuffyWorld, which site also has links to other fanfic-related things.

If I need to see details of a particular episode, even a single scene or something only a few seconds long, I look to online video storage. There was a time when all the BtVS and A:tS episodes were on Netflix, but that seems not to be the case just now. WatchSeries, 123Movies, or even basic Youtube can allow you to check out old episodes of this and that as you need.

Buffyverse DB is my main resource to look for particular dialogue; there’s a search function here, plus the listing of individual episodes.

I keep Merriam-Webster as a permanent bookmark. Google Translate has helped me out a few times for language.

The Internet Movie Database (along with Wikipedia, of course) comes in handy when researching for crossovers.

Finally, the list of resources (here) formulated in 2020 by [livejournal.com profile] jedibuttercup remains a GREAT consulting guide.
