Somewhat after 5:00AM, when it became clear that Susan and I were both awake and reading from our phones, it seemed like it was time to just get up and turn on the lights. We’d easily slept for over 15 hours.
To my alarm, I found that our internal refrigerator didn’t seem to have cooled at all during all that time (after we got the power hooked back up). I turned it to OFF, let it stay that way for a bit less than a minute, then turned it back to AUTO.
Since we hadn’t restocked any of our groceries after getting back, I drove to the nearest McDonalds to pick up breakfast for us (though I waited till after 6:00 to do that). By the time of my return, I could see that the fridge was beginning to drop temperature, so maybe we were good.
I fed Susan’s dog, took her for a walk. I brought in some of our luggage, unpacked it. Susan went down for further nap; it may take some time yet before she’s fully recovered.
We had a slightly late lunch at a local café, spent the rest of the day relaxing and sorting stuff at leisure.
We’re home, we’re back in our routine, and all is okay.
