Seventeenth day in China – July 28 Friday

Up 9:20AM for shower and shave. I let Susan sleep till past 10:30.

Because of the still-in-progress typhoon, we had already agreed to skip the usual evening visit to the Yins’ apartment. I went down the block to Burger King to get lunch for Susan and myself; intended to pay cash, but the kiosk I ordered from (because I found the ‘English’ button on the menu this time) didn’t have an option for cash, so I used Alipay, which — halleluiah — worked okay.

I hooked up my laptop to the TV, and Susan and I watched some episodes from Hulu. During one of those, I went to the nearest 7Eleven to pick up some supplies; later, after Susan had lain down for a nap, I made another trip to a different (larger) 7Eleven in a different direction to get a few more things, and also got a cinnamon-bun-type pastry for Susan from Baker & Spice.

Light evening, I read and Susan crocheted. She took an early bedtime; I went down myself around 10:30PM.
