Twelfth (last) day in Spain – July 10 Monday

Up 7:30AM, showered, shaved. Susan and I had breakfast downstairs in the hotel, then back in our room she took the day’s medicines. She was much improved from yesterday, which we could use at this point.

We rested, packed. At 12:45PM I took her down to the lobby, then went back up to our room to bring down our luggage, and we checked out at the front desk (though the hotel stored our luggage for a later departure).

Cristina saw us in the lobby, and left Joachim with us while she went to finish arranging things for the rest of the group. At 1:30PM (or shortly thereafter), Joachim took us to the restaurant (La Cava de Juani) where we would have our last lunch in Spain. Cristina and Rena were already there, and the rest — those who didn’t opt out — joined us. A decent end to a string of very nice meals in Spain.

Back to the hotel around 3:30, and we settled in to relax in the lobby till time for movement. At 5:30 I pulled our bags from hotel storage; shortly after 6:00PM the group started taking the bags out, and we were aboard the bus at 6:10, moving out a few minutes later. Cristina and Joachim got off at the train station 6:25, to return to Valencia for a while.

We arrived at the airport at 6:45, and Kevin helped us through the process of making sure everything was properly set for service. It was decided that Susan would use her own wheelchair till boarding, then it would be stored for relay flight and airport wheelchairs supplied for subsequent stops.

Our flight boarding and departure were rolled back; we didn’t make it onto the plane till 9:35PM, and it was nearly 10:30PM before takeoff.
