Eighth day in Spain – July 06 Thursday

Up somewhat after 8:00AM, showered and shaved, then Susan and I to breakfast around 8:30. Ran into Cristina, but nobody else. Once we were done with breakfast, back to the room to rest further.

Everyone met in the lobby at noon to check out, and then at 1:00PM we had lunch in the hotel restaurant. Afterward we relaxed some in the downstairs lounge. At 2:35 we boarded the bus, and started off at 2:45.

At 5:00PM we stopped at the Museu de les Ciències Príncipe Felipe (the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum) inside the Valencian Community. I wheeled Susan around that for a while, but she hadn’t realized we’d be doing anything of that type and was honestly a bit disgruntled by the delay for something in which she didn’t have that much interest. At 7:00 we got back together with Kevin and Mei‑li and Amber in the ground floor level, and returned to the bus, which got us to our night’s lodging (the Hotel Vincci Palace) by about 7:30.

Susan and I took a while to settle in; she was quite tired by the day she’d already spent. Kevin contacted us to say the group was gathering in the lobby to go out for dinner; Susan elected to remain in the room, and the rest of us left at 9:00PM.

We had dinner at the Birlibirloque Bar and restaurant. ( Birlibirloque literally means “countable, uncountable”, but is popularly used to indicate “magic”.) Cristina didn’t actually join the group till 10:00PM, leaving leadership to her co-guide Rena. It was she, however, who pulled together something for us to take back to Susan in the room (fancy pasta and a dessert).

Once she’d eaten, Susan settled in for bed. I did the same somewhat afterward.
