It’s been an interminable, enervating process. The earliest stages (call them Phases 1 through 4) took place over decades:

Phase 1 – “Please don’t persecute us.”
Phase 2 – “… Would it be too much to tolerate us?”
Phase 3 – “You really ought to accept us.”
     giving over to
Phase 4 – “You’re not allowed NOT to agree with us.”

We’re now pretty much into:

Phase 5 – “You’re required to celebrate the degeneracy we engage in.”

It is a matter of extreme urgency that we put a stop to this. Because there will be a bad, bad reaction (almost certainly an overreaction that will go much too far) if they ever get to where they think they can — and begin trying to — initiate the final step:

Phase 6 – “You’re required to engage in the degeneracy we celebrate.”

Hard to imagine things ever going that far? Oh, yeah. But then, I never would have believed we could get this far without it triggering a violent revolution. It’s the prospect of that revolution that worries me.
