Sex (gender) is not ‘assigned at birth’. That’s bullshit, a deliberate lie that was always a lie. Sex is recognized at birth. It is — rarely — possible for that recognition to be later found mistaken … but any such mistake derives from initial misidentification/misreading of the physical reality, not from somebody’s fee-e-elings.

Yes, the contempt is deliberate and heartfelt. That’s because I’m aware of the contention that, while sex is a physical matter, gender is determined by one’s internal state. Which is just a fancy way of saying that reality isn’t reality, the real reality comes from your feelings. I was dealing with THAT silly bullshit long before the current fads started applying it to gender issues on a large scale.

Your feelings are real. They’re not reality. Reality is what’s there whether you believe it or not. And when you try to take the internal state (which can change, or be mistaken, or just plain faked by unscrupulous liars) and use it to dictate physical reality — worse, compel others to behave according to a “legal” fiction — you get tyranny. Which, increasingly, is where we are now.
