When I selected the story I would essay for [livejournal.com profile] remixredux08, and chose the idea I would follow out, I expected it would run about 5,000 words. I’m currently past 4,000 and it now appears that the story will run at least twice that. And it’s technically due tomorrow. So I have much to do, in very little time.

Meanwhile, I’m posting a recommendation. I found it by way of someone else’s rec, so to some people this won’t be news.

Over at Twisting the Hellmouth, [livejournal.com profile] phouka and her brother [livejournal.com profile] phoukabro have produced a series of Xander-centric stories, “Oh, the Places He Goes!” Each of the stories is a crossover with a different fandom, and the series runs the gamut from the sublime to the hilarious. At least one is somewhat grim, but most are a comic delight. The shortest story is 1,338 words, the longest 17,722, but on average they run about 5,600 words.

These are well worth reading, praising, and prompting calls for further entries in the series. Enjoy.

Update before bedtime: Now past 6,000 words. And I have one major scene, one resolution scene, and the finale left to do. I believe I may be able to get this one in on schedule.

Thanks for the rec

My sister forwarded the review you sent. Thank you for the kind words. I don't have a Eureka crossover planned for anytime soon. I've seen a few episodes, but I'm not familiar enough to feel comfortable writing the characters. Right now, I'm working on some Xander stories unrelated to the series.

By the way, I love Learning Curve. It's one of the best post season 7 Xander stories I've read.
