Student loan WHAT?!!!

So, Joe Biden has decreed that student loan debt will be forgiven (and doubtless paid by the government, since he can’t — yet — tell the lenders that they’ll simply be swindled out of the money they lent in good faith).

My wife worked her way through college, then worked her way through graduate school. She took on NO student loan debt. Does she get a refund? for any of what she didn’t borrow, but paid for herself?

I worked my way through college, till she paid for the last year and a half, and then years later I worked two jobs to carry myself through graduate school, and I did take student loans for that last but I paid them all back, over time, mostly with money earned in combat theaters. Do I get any kind of refund? for what I paid for myself, or paid back as agreed?

My son got no loans, but he didn’t have to work, because his mother and I remembered how much fun THAT had been and told him we’d cover everything as long as he passed his courses. Do we get any refunds for him? for what we paid and the debt we didn’t let him take on?

I’d like to say the answer to all those questions is No.

But that wouldn’t be true.

We do get something.

We get to pay — through our taxes — for people who took out loans they will never have to repay. Because Biden believes (and he’s probably right) that he can buy votes by giving away ‘free’ money.

Fuck him, and fuck everybody who supports him, and fuck anybody who agrees with this stinking ripoff.

That said, I think we should all aspire to become lifetime career students! Get smart, yeh?
But remember: Free. College in Sweden is free. That's not even all that common in Europe anymore.
While the costs of education are far lower than in the US, over the past two decades sometimes-hefty fees
have become a fact of life for many European students.

Like increasing gas prices. Isn't that the same tactic the Bush regime used around 911? Increase energy prices due to wartime supply..
and what about the billions being sent to Ukraine while America struggles to get back on its feet under gross inflation? And fuel inflation.
