Fandom Snowflake Challenge, Day 12

Not much to offer on this one. My wife (Susan) and I live alone, and I’ve had the last two days off, without much contact with other people. Still, within those extremely limited circumstances, I managed to get in a few things (but not for this specific purpose, they’re just part of normal life operations/practices).

I made her breakfast, and helped her find something she’d lost.

We went into town for personal business; she stopped at a little place that sells coffee, and we were told that her purchase had already been paid forward, and I went ahead and threw in something to continue the trend.

After our appointment had been completed, I took her to a little restaurant that’s been offering a signature dish, and ordered one of those for her so she could try it out. I also ordered shrimp as an extra, and shared that with her.

Her phone charger cord had gotten twisted and stopped working right, and after we got home I went down the hill and purchased another one for her, and helped her get everything set up.

During the week, I had saved web pages during my internet browsing, and I read her some of them (the text ones) and showed her others (the videos).

Like I said, these little things are normal. And I want to keep them a regular part of our normal life.

And that’s it.

Indeed.

I love this. Random acts of kindness should be a normal part of every day :) And what better way than to help the people we love as much as strangers.

It’s not really random. I’m not a naturally thoughtful person (way toward the opposite end on that scale), so doing something nice has to be something I plan. Which means I have to plan a lot, until acting as if I were thoughtful becomes habitual. And, at some point, the artful imitation gets settled so solid, it kinda-sorta becomes the actual thing I started out imitating.

That’s the idea, anyhow.
