Fandom Snowflake Challenge, Day 2

In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you’d love to receive, something you’ve wanted but were afraid to ask for — a fannish wish-list of sorts. Leave a comment here saying you did it. Include a link to your wish-list if you feel comfortable doing so. Maybe someone will grant a wish. Check out other people’s posts. Maybe you will grant a wish. If any wishes are granted, we’d love it if you link them to this post.

I have trouble with this because — as previously noted — if I want something, I generally find a way to get it myself, or do it for myself. Still, I’ll take a shot.

  1. In my previous participations in this meme, I mentioned fan art. Well, I got that satisfied pretty solidly; I’ve written 67 Buffyverse stories, and now have art for 35 of them. [livejournal.com profile] gillo was the first contributor (for “Oaxaca Nights”), and since then I’ve received three from [livejournal.com profile] comlodge, four from [livejournal.com profile] blondebitz, one each from [livejournal.com profile] angelus2hot and [livejournal.com profile] red_satin_doll … and [livejournal.com profile] sroni (my daughter, literally raised in fanfic) basically went insane, and has provided me with twenty-six story banners, plus promising more for every other story I’ve done and several for which I’ve only described the ideas.

All taken care of, right? Well, not quite. There’s one story she simply doesn’t know how to tackle; the inspiration just isn’t there for her. So, if any art-inclined person would be interested in reading “Family Skeletons” (2009) and working up a cover banner? that would be deeply appreciated.

  2. In the past, I’ve mentioned Harmony: a site devoted to stories about our favorite ditzy vampiress, or a comedic Harmony-Drusilla team-up. In the absence of anything so grand, how about just a list of the most fun Harmony fics that various readers know of? I always enjoy doing myself a little Harm.

  3. This one couldn’t be satisfied immediately, but: since 2011, [livejournal.com profile] sroni and I have been running the Circle of Friends Remix ([livejournal.com profile] cof_remix), a yearly small remix, mainly Buffy-focused, loosely patterned on RemixRedux. We originally intended to limit participation to no more than ten or twelve people per round, to keep it small enough for us to handle properly … but, in the five years [livejournal.com profile] cof_remix has been running, we’ve had twelve participants total. (Every round had four to seven people, with lots of repeats, but also with nearly half of the participants doing only one round.)

So, anyone who’s read any of the [livejournal.com profile] cof_remix stories, or done-or-enjoyed RemixRedux in the past, or just who feels willing to try something new: drop me a comment, and when sign-ups come around again this year, I’ll let you know so you can consider signing up.

I'll sign on for COF next time.

I don't go out of my way to find Harmony fic, but I did read this one: Tequila Sunrise by [livejournal.com profile] snogged.

I had not read it before but I have now. It was quite amusing. Thank you.
