Fandom Snowflake Challenge, Day 11
In your own space, post a rec for fannish and/or creative resources. Leave a comment in this [the assignment] post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
First, I rely on su_herald a great deal to keep up with what’s going on. It has many times notified me of things I never would have known about otherwise (and has, not unimportant to me, kept a few people informed of some of my endeavors).
Additionally, I stay subscribed to btvs_award_info. There aren’t as many active Buffy fanworks award events as there used to be, but
btvs_award_info allows me to keep track of many or most of the current ones. (I particularly like the Sunnydale Memorial Fanfiction Awards, though I have historically not done too well there.)
snogged already mentioned BuffyWorld, in her case as a source of episode transcripts. I rely so much on transcripts that I downloaded all of them more than a decade ago, but I still check at BuffyWorld now and then for quick details. (Among other things, I believe they post current
su_herald listings.)
Also occasionally useful is Buffyverse DB, which I use primarily for the search function; BuffyWorld covers most of my other needs, but this one actually has multiple resources that could be used instead of BuffyWorld.
And, of course, I keep Merriam-Webster as a permanent bookmark. And Google Translate can come in handy sometimes, though I don’t think I’ve used it for fanfic more than a couple of times.
That, I think, should cover the majors.
