So, an Afghan mob kills eight (or ten, or a dozen) non-American UN personnel because two weeks ago some two-bit preacher in Florida burned a Koran in a publicity stunt for which the U.S. media refused to give him any publicity.
I am sick of this crap. I’m sick of these people. I’m sick of the very suggestion that we should moderate any minute aspect of our opinions, language or behavior on behalf of murderous barbarians who’ll grab onto any excuse to kill people. People who didn’t do anything, who weren’t even of the same nationality as the moron who offended them, who weren’t guilty of any offense except being handy when a crowd of murderous barbarians decided it would be fun to butcher some infidels.
Spin up the gunships. Strafe the streets. Make them afraid — paralyzed with terror, trembling and fouling themselves in their cellars — to do anything that might conceivably offend us.
Until then, the Religion of Peace will continue to rack up further mighty victories for Allah. By firebombing a kindergarten in Bermuda, maybe. That would just about match their idea of proportionate response. Or piety. Or decency.

But I can't, because you're right. I wish more people would understand that there's a difference between how things *should* be, and how they *are*.

Date: 2011-04-04 08:21 am (UTC)That doesn't compute. If it's such an enlightened 'religion', why act so afraid of them? Why bend over backwards to cater to their every whim? Why turn every demand from its followers living in our cities, into immediate action in their favor?
In Europe, who are the biggest troublemakers? Who over-represented in police programs? Who are the ones filling out the violent rape statistics in places like Sweden and Norway? I'll give you a hint, it's not the indigenous population.
I can go on and on, but that'll mean high blood pressure. The reasons why we allow this to happen are threefold:
1. Oil;
2. Socialist, politically correct, multi-culturism expounding leadership;
3. Fear of what their representatives in our countries will do if we act.
The first one is simple. Because of all the laws and regulations, getting a permit to drill for oil in the North Sea or anywhere else for that matter (looking at you, USA) is like trying to undo a Gordian Knot while dancing through one of Kafka's darker books. Much of the Western world is tied to Middle East (and in growing numbers, Russian) oil and gas. This, while for instance, the US is believed to have multiples of what Saudi Arabia has. Plus the opposition to other types of energy, like nuclear.
Number two speaks for itself. Here, in the Netherlands, previous governments didn't address the problems, no, they vilified those that brought them up, all in the name of multi-culturism. A certain group of North-African immigrants and their children have been problematic for decades and in that time, the official name for them has changed at least four times, from Moroccan, to Dutch-born foreigners, to New Dutchmen to whatever it's now. They are the only group of foreigners who have gone through this change, not the Chinese, not the Surinames, not the Antillians etc. That should give you an idea of the negative connotations associated with each name change.
Number three ties directly into number two. Remember the riots in Paris' banlieus? North-Africans again. Guess who are the loudest here in the Netherlands? Remember Dutch member of parliament Geert Wilders, who has been pointing out the excesses and what happened across the Muslim world when he put out his movie Fitna? Or moviemaker Van Gogh who was slaughtered on the street because he dared to make fun of Islam? Or how about the fact certain parts of Brussels are no-go areas for the police? The city that houses the European Union Parliament has no-go areas, where North-African youths rule with AK-type rifles.
Is Jones responsible for these peoples deads? Not in my view. Islam has killed more people than Pol Pot, Hitler, Stalin, Lenin and any other dictator combined over the course of its history. Indonesia and the world media doesn't even cover the news of kidnapping/rape/torture/beheading of Christian schoolgirls in parts of that country anymore. These people are primitive. They are barbaric and should be treated as such at the best of times and ignored if at all possible.
Ten years ago, if you'd asked me about the situation in the Middle East and Africa, I'd be all for helping them and having compassion. I've grown older and wiser, I'd like to think and now, I'm a firm believer of building a wall around the whole damn place, send those that make trouble here back to their country of origin and maybe, in a century or two, have a look-see from fifty thousand feet.
