I said I would finish “Glass Ceiling” by the end of November. I had no idea, no idea, that it would run as long as it did. It is now officially the longest story I’ve ever written, well past 37,000 words, something like twice the size that I originally anticipated.

I did it. I had to write 5,000 words a day for three days straight (managing five hours of sleep a night), but I’m done. Of course, that’s the first draft, I still have to key it in and do the necessary polish, which tends to add a little bulk as I flesh out things I did too sparsely the first time through.

A week, maybe, before I start posting installments.

Congratulations! There's nothing like the rush of that final stretch.

So, you're going to send it to me first, right? As your official un-official protege? (Sorry, don't know how to do that little line over the 'e' to make it the correct letter.) I'll beta, and it'll be like old times. Except not really, since I'm over here, and you're over there. Phoo. (By the way, not entirely serious. Except about the official un-official protege part. I gave myself that title about three years ago. Congratulations. I'm thinking of sending you a certificate: To Roni's best official un-official mentor, Alix Aadler. There, you just got the certificate. Wow, I'm really tired.)

So, I just read it, to read it, and I was soaking it in, and didn't read the spoilers. Took notes. Feel special, that's the first time I've done that with a story.

X and A. I read this, and my first thought was, "What the Hell?" Because I hadn't read the spoilers. My next thought was, "Angle-verse?"

When she remembered what she hadn't forgotten, I was feeling wonderfully clever with myself, because that was the verifying factor for Angle-verse.

"f equals m times v two." I love judo. That's the basic equationi.

Orpheus... that was the drug that Faith used to put the big whammy on Angelus, right?

"Death is your gift." Don't know Restless so well, but isn't that what the Primitive said through Tara to Buffy? I liked Cordelia's response better.

Trying to decide on the two non-obvious (to me) female characters. Who they are, and if I'm even supposed to recognize them.

The ending was heartbreaking, and it makes sense.

I loved it. It was great, and I caught a couple of possible typos that I emailed you.
