I got this one from jedibuttercup. Looked like it might be fun, so I’ll give it a try:

Name a character and I’ll give you three or more “facts” from my personal fanon about that character.

For the purposes of this meme, I can be considered a Buffy-only author.

Since you got it from me... how about the character I write (warp?) the most: Buffy Summers herself.

That’s more of a challenge that you might think, because, though I’ve focused almost solely on BtVS for fanfic, I haven’t used Buffy herself that much in my stories.

So, okay, fanon facts (originating with me) about the character of Buffy Summers:

1. She’s really — through an accidental time-shift brought about by Ethan Ranye — Giles’ daughter. (As a result, she has Giles’ eyes.) Only two people know her paternity, though, and they’re not even people. Whistler is one; Drusilla is the other.
2. She isn’t actually named ‘Buffy’, that came from her cousin Celia’s toddler attempts to pronounce her real name. After Celia died, Buffy refused to answer to anything else, so it stuck permanently.
3. Before she got back enough consciousness to make a reasoned decision, she wanted (and part of her intended) to kill whoever had pulled her out of ‘heaven’.

I love the Giles' daughter thing-- that's the first story of yours that really hooked me in. It also made it nearly impossible for me to read Buffy/Giles for a good long while. *grin*

Let's try someone who doesn't see a lot of fanfic action - Principal Snyder.

As it happens, I’ve actually used Snyder a few times. Here goes, then:

1. Along with the insults we’ve already heard, some students at SHS called him ‘Ferengi’.
2. Even without band candy to fuel it, he was seriously attracted to Joyce Summers, though he disliked and resented her and did his best to squash his desire into nothing.
3. While continuing his support of the Mayor, he hedged his bets by postponing the installation of metal detectors at the school (thus making possible the arming of the graduating class).

So how’s that?

All right.

1. Cordelia’s ‘demonification’ didn’t come entirely from Skip; she actually had a trace of demon blood back in her ancestry, which is why (as Tara’s family claimed was the case with her) Cordelia’s 20th birthday was a pivotal moment during which things could go either way. During the brief time they moved in the same circles, Anya was aware that something was there, but didn’t know what, she just knew Cordelia fit the pattern of Xander and mystical women. Nobody else had a clue.
    
2. There were real self-worth issues in the back of Cordelia’s mind, which she made sure no one ever saw or even suspected. The results included her lasting inability to forgive Xander’s betrayal (though he won back some of her tolerance when he paid for her prom dress), and a growing hero-worship of Buffy that she would have furiously denied even under torture. In fact, the playful overtures Faith occasionally made in Buffy’s direction disturbed Cordelia so much that, every now and then, she would stop, close her eyes, and look inside herself to see if her own feelings for Buffy held any hint of sexual interest. She was always mightily relieved to find they didn’t.
    
3. She never really marked the time when Wesley Wyndham-Pryce stopped being the mistake she was glad to have put behind her, and became the mistake it might be interesting to make just for the experience, but eventually she realized that the awareness was there. There were several reasons she never acted on it. (For one, it was just easier and more comfortable for them both if he stayed in his assigned role; for another, some part of her suspected that his new qualities were still loosely-rooted, and would better develop if left to grow for awhile; for a third, it would have felt weirdly like disloyalty to Doyle, although that didn’t stop her from getting involved with Groo or becoming interested in Angel.) All the same, it was there, and she kept herself warily clear of it … and then their lives moved them in different directions, and he became the mistake she never got a chance to make.
