Not too hard.

For sheer talent, there is none who can compare to Yahtzee. Writing in multiple fandoms — with the greatest focus, so far as I can tell, in Buffy the Vampire Slayer / Angel: the Series and Alias — this is someone who always turns out masterful work, and usually in an intimidatingly short period of time. (There are indications that she’s now being published professionally as well, but I’ve never been able to chase those down.) Main site here, and feel free to check out everything therein.

For sheer fun, I’ve seldom enjoyed anything as much as Phouka’s Oh, the Places He Goes series. Posted at Twisting the Hellmouth, every story builds on the previous tales, and every story is a crossover with yet another fandom, and the whole thing is just great walloping fun. Cumulatively, it runs to over 150,000 words, but the individual stories — there are 28 in all — are more easily digestible. (Sadly, it appears there will be no further entries. Even outside this series, however, Phouka keeps writing, and it continues to be worth reading.)

For the single most brilliant opening sequence anywhere EVER, the first chapter to Litmouse’s “Secrets: A Father Goose Tale”. Fantastic use of language and imagery, and flat-out hilarious. (And, of course, this is the second sequel to “Father Goose and the Black Knight”, a novel-length crossover of Buffy the Vampire Slayer with Law & Order: SVU, an enormously good story in its own right.)
