(Because yesterday was supposed to be Day 1)

Continuing the meme/challenge begun here and kept up to date here.

Fandom Snowflake Challenge, Day 2

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you did not create. See if you can rec fanworks that are less likely to be praised: tiny fandoms, rare pairings, fanworks other than stories, lesser known kinks or tropes. Find fanworks that have few to no comments, or creators new to a particular fandom and maybe aren’t well known or appreciated. Appreciate them.

I’m not that deeply versed in the ins-and-outs; my primary focus is on Buffyfic, and on stories within that. So, keeping those limitations in mind:

First work
Points of View”, by phouka. It serves as a standalone, but is also the first story in a brief series. Fandom, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Entertaining in many ways, I’ve gone back to re-read it on a number of occasions.

Second work
Banging Your Head Against a RedHaired Brick Wall”, by [livejournal.com profile] blairprovence. Fandom, the X-Files. Not precisely a lesser-known work … but it was well-known in 1998, which means newer readers may not have had the pleasure of seeing it.

Third work
I really wanted my third rec to be the brilliant cover art by Cyn Martin for [livejournal.com profile] sadbhyl’s “Impossibly Delightful Flesh” (fic here), in which Buffy, Xander, Anya, Tara and Spike were mystically genderswitched, but could no longer find that anywhere online. Then — SPECIAL THANKS[livejournal.com profile] frogfarm provided me with a working link, so the art can be seen HERE in all its glory.

Honorable mention:
An untitled Faith/Sawyer ficlet by [livejournal.com profile] sroni, fandom Lost/Buffy. Okay, I’ll admit to favoritism (even nepotism), but it really was nicely done.

I'm extremely gratified that one of my stories made this list. Thank you.

I didn't return the favour. I actually excluded you from my list. But in a sense, that's a compliment, because otherwise, you'd be the whole list, and that's not fair to other authors. :P
