Well, I got my wish. Unit drill almost always takes place on the first full weekend of the month, but because Columbus Day (Monday 9th) is a federal holiday, this month’s drill won’t take place until next weekend. That gives me an additional week to work on my fitness.
That’s good; what isn’t good is that I didn’t do any further work on God Save the Queen. Still, I’ve been adjusting my schedule to facilitate more time available for work, and I’ll start utilizing some of it tomorrow.

( Personal Stuff )
I’ll do my reenlistment next weekend, as soon as I’ve completed the APFT, and meanwhile I’ll be cashing out the special 10%-interest-bearing account I opened for Army savings while I was overseas. (It ceased to draw interest three months after my return.) That, plus my reenlistment bonus, will provide me with enough to live for two years with careful budgeting — I’ve made it for five months on the extra I had collected in my regular checking account — but I still hope to be attending DLI by then.
So. Life continues.
