First week in August

I drove my daughter back to rejoin her fiancé. It took us three days to get there; I stayed three days, to get to know him to some extent, then made the return drive in twenty-six hours.

Two days later, my son returned from his month’s study in Japan, which followed (I think) nearly three months in China.

For the first time in over a year, all four of us are on the same continent.

It may be awhile before we find ourselves all together, in the same space, at once.
