Ireland/China 2025, continuing (57)
Aug. 6th, 2025 11:43 pmForty-seventh day in China – August 6 Wednesday
I slept in till just after 9:30AM, Susan up shortly thereafter. Given our late rising, I waited till after 11:00 and brought up lunch from McDonald’s. (While I was waiting for my order, the rain — which had amounted to only just a light sprinkle when I went in — suddenly ramped up so violently that water was blowing up clear under the 10-foot overhang at the front of the building, and the wind knocking things over inside the restaurant whenever anyone cracked the door.)
Shortly after noon, I made a trip to the grocery store to get some bottled soft drinks for us; the rain had gone away such that I didn’t need to use the umbrella I took with me, but even so I texted Mei‑li that Susan and I were doing one more day at ‘home’ (mainly because she was dealing with back pain). Also, there’s supposed to be NO rain for the next several days, so that won’t be an issue for us.
After 6:00PM I went over to Baker & Spice to get dinner for Susan and me, brought it back to the apartment.
About 8:30 I put on a load of laundry, had it done and hanging outside to dry before 9:45. This is us, living the glamorous life.
Routine activities thereafter. Susan went to bed before 11:30PM, by which point I was ready to do the same.
