Ireland/China 2025, continuing (50)

Fortieth day in China – July 30 Wednesday

I got up just after 7:00AM, and again after 8:00, but went back to bed twice; my body just wanted more rest. Susan was up by 9:30, so I stayed up that time. Routine breakfast (cup o’ noodles for me, waffle cookies for her).

Around noon I went down to Baker & Spice and got a couple of small meals for us, brought them back to the apartment for lunch.

Later in the afternoon, I went to the pharmacy and picked up some minor supplies. And, around 4:30PM, I walked down to the grocery store for other things, mostly soft drinks (or orange juice). After I got back, we went through our daily Rosary.

We started off at 6:05PM, arrived at the Yins’ almost exactly 6:30. To our surprise, Amber was there, and Kevin arrived within a few minutes after we finished the meal. While he ate his own dinner, Amber read some stories to Susan, and I was pleased to find that she knows how to read a story instead of just flatly reading off the words.

(I did take a private moment to remind Kevin that, if any corrections are needed for Amber’s birthday fic, I only have one day left to make them. He said he’d get to it as soon as he could.)

Susan and I back to the apartment, general relaxation till it was time for us to prepare for bed.
