Ireland/China 2025, continuing (46)
Jul. 26th, 2025 11:35 pmThirty-sixth day in China – July 26 Saturday
I got up about 7:00AM, Susan had already been awake for some hours. We got our breakfast, she sent some messages off to Kevin discussing when we might meet for lunch. The maid came to do the second of our twice-weekly cleanings.
Just before 11:30AM, we got a text that our son was on his way … and it came in literally seconds before the knock on the door that let us know he and Amber had arrived. We went across the street to a restaurant called Keming, just around the corner from the Baker & Spice we’ve frequented.
We probably would have spent more time together, but toward the end of the meal he got a message that Amber needed to come back for her Spanish lesson and to finish her homework. They headed toward home, then, while Susan and I returned to our own apartment.
In the later afternoon, Susan contacted Kevin to see if we could make another try at visiting Mei‑li and Ruby. Kevin said it wasn’t looking good today. He suggested that we try mornings from now on.
At 6:00PM we started over to the Yins’. Logan had dinner on the table maybe ten minutes after we arrived. It was just the four of us initially, but Amber and then Kevin showed up shortly thereafter, and we hung around for further visiting, not starting back till after 8:30PM.
Reading and relaxing till bedtime, which was just before 11:45PM.
