Twenty-seventh day in China – July 17 Thursday

I woke around 8:30AM (I think), found Susan already up. Since we no longer had breakfast food available, I got breakfast meals from the McDonald’s downstairs.

Later on, with a couple of our devices (my laptop mouse, Susan’s lighted magnifier for cross-stitching) beginning to fail in their functions, I got some replacement batteries from the downstairs 7‑Eleven.

Susan lay down again to rest; once she got up, after 1:00PM, I bought a couple of meals from the cooler at 7‑Eleven for our lunch. I let her try one first … and, as I had known might be possible, she pronounced it too spicy (said it was burning her throat). So I ate that one, put the second one in the fridge for my lunch tomorrow, and got her a Big Mac meal from McDonald’s.

I napped a bit myself in the afternoon. As the evening arrived, Susan and I started off for the Yins’, and arrived maybe fifteen minutes before dinner was served. Tonight it was just the four grandparents. Afterward, while we were still waiting for Kevin to arrive, Laura said she was going over to visit with Mei‑li and the baby, and Susan and I went along.

Amber was there as well, and we visited with her while waiting for Ruby to become available (she was feeding when we arrived). A few minutes of baby time when she was brought out, then the two of us headed back to our own apartment around 8:30, settling in for the rest of the night.

Evening Rosary, reading and video-watching. Susan was ready for bed by 11:45, me not much later.
