Twenty-fourth day in China – July 14 Monday

It was nearly 9:00AM before I got up, started hot water for my breakfast and Susan’s coffee. She was dealing with more than usual back pain, and after I brought up lunch from 7‑Eleven, she went to lie down for a while longer. Before napping, she texted Mei‑li to let her know we wouldn’t be going over their way for dinner tonight. (I also figured out how to switch plug adapters, so she could use in her bedroom the heat-pad we bought in Ireland.)

While she was resting, I turned out 1,000 words on the story I’m doing for Amber’s birthday. Feeling my way as I go, but so far it’s working pretty well.

Once Susan got up, she returned to her normal activities (watching laptop videos and doing cross-stitch). Near 6:00PM we said our day’s Rosary, and somewhere around 6:30 we went back to the nearby restaurant (still don’t know the name, it’s written out only in Chinese characters) where we had such a nice time before. This time we both got the black truffle rice, and Susan was in a much better mood by the time we got back up in the apartment.

I got some more video transferred over to her laptop, and she settled in with that. I did some reading, and downloaded a few more things for my future use. She was still following her own routine when I wound things up and got myself ready to go to bed (around 11:45).
