Twenty-first day in China – July 11 Friday
Because I’d stayed up late, I slept in late; because she’d had trouble sleeping during the night, Susan got up even later than I did.
Light, leisurely breakfast. About 12:30PM, we went downstairs and across the street; I’d planned to take her to Baker & Spice, but she saw a place called Thai Delight and we had lunch there instead. After which she stopped at Baker & Spice for coffee.
While Susan rested back at the apartment, I made a trip down to a 7-Eleven on the next block, and found what I thought I had remembered: a display of umbrellas just outside the store. I bought one, because some of our uncertainty regarding the weather would be met by having an umbrella available. (Wouldn’t have made any difference yesterday, though, it was just raining too hard.)
We went over to the Yins’, arriving maybe 6:20 or 6:25PM. Logan made another of his solidly appetizing meals, and Susan and I ate to our satisfaction. Kevin showed up after he got off work — I’d got it into my head that today was Saturday, so I hadn’t expected that — and Susan and I did what we normally do: after a bit of visiting with him, we headed back to our own apartment, but not till Susan had asked him if we could spend time with him and Amber tomorrow, and got his agreement.
Settled in again, we did our Rosary and spent the rest of the evening reading. Susan went on to bed a few minutes before 11:00PM. I was ready for bed myself shortly after that.
