Fourth day in Ireland – June 14 Saturday

I slept in a little later than usual, and Susan and I went down for breakfast just before 9:00AM, after sending a Facebook Messenger alert to Roni that we weren’t directly in the room at that time. Upstairs again afterward, Susan went back to sleep; her current situation really has made it hard for her to get an uninterrupted night’s sleep, so she plays catch-up when she can.

Roni had communicated to us that on weekends she and Conal slept until their bodies insisted they wake up, so we knew nothing immediate would be happening. Still, it was something of a surprise when they didn’t arrive at the hotel till past 5:30PM. Susan didn’t feel like going out — still under the weather from her various issues — so Roni stayed with her while Conal and I went out to do some shopping. He wound up finding all the things we needed, including snacks and soft drinks and a couple of pain medications (my first visit to a Tesco, though I’d been hearing about them for years). I took a try at getting some potassium supplements, hoping they might help Susan with the muscle cramps; the first pharmacy said they didn’t have any, the second told me that potassium is only available by prescription here. Okay.

Back at the hotel, we moved very quickly down to the dining room. Earlier than our usual, but with the time we spent down there and the time the four of us spent back up in the hotel room, it was still past 10:00PM before Roni and Conal left for home.

Worked up today’s LJ post, then began preparations for bedtime, nearly 11:30PM.
