Spain/China 2023, continuing (38)

Twenty-fourth day in China – August 04 Friday

I slept in till 10:45AM, then didn’t wake Susan when I went about my morning activities. (Sometimes we have things to do; mostly, though, I just let her sleep for as long as her body feels like it needs sleep.)

Just after 12:30PM, I let her know the time. We dressed out, and went across the street to I Holic Pizza … where, again, we had ribeye steak instead. (Good food.) Picked up an iced coffee and vanilla raisin roll at Baker & Spice on the way back to the apartment.

I started a load of laundry in the machine out on the balcony; we’d actually planned to wait another day or two — so our clothes would still be fresh when we start back home — but we were both getting a little low on underwear, so we’ll just try not to sweat too much for the next four days.

After I got the laundry finished and hung up, Susan and I watched a movie I’d downloaded this morning; then, that done, immediately got ready and went over to the Yins’ apartment, with another set of presents for Amber’s birthday week. (More books, some small doll stuff.)

Today’s dinner was primarily chicken, though there was rice and soup as well. Fried chicken can be pretty easy to mess up for a home cook, but Logan didn’t. Additionally, he gave me and Susan a bottle of wine and some gourmet tea to take back to the States with us.

Back to our own apartment; Kevin was teaching an English class this evening, so he didn’t accompany us tonight. Some reading, eventually to bed.
