Though the news of it is more recent, a ‘Pride’ march held in France on June 17 officially disinvited a prominent lesbian group, on the basis that they restricted their membership to females — actual females — to the exclusion of ‘trans-identified males’. This was, of course, transphobic, than which is no sin greater.

This is similar, of course, to the matter I noted in my June 9 post, but that was a single lesbian bar targeted by scattered activists. This was a prominent lesbian organization, officially singled out for sanctions by an overall LGBTQwerty quasi-governing body.

Mind, I feel no affinity for any gay-rights group, of any kind. I can still recognize the injustice, the appalling preposterousness, of what’s being done here. Lesbians — women who prefer other women to men — are one of the sacred designated victim groups, not subject to any criticism from any direction (that would be hate speech) … unless they continue to prefer other women to men who lie about being women and claim higher victim status because they’re newer and trendier. In that case, they (lesbians) being what they’ve always been, is suddenly unacceptable and makes them open to attack. Even though they haven’t actually changed anything about who they are or what they do.

(Just as an aside, I’ll note that this seems to be a fairly common problem — activists demanding that lesbians put aside their defining preferences in order to accept, as women, people who aren’t women — but I’ve never heard, anywhere, of gay men being ostracized for excluding women who claim to be gay men. Or, for that matter, ever heard of any women self-identifying as such. Is this because there are fewer lying, predatory women than lying, predatory men? or does this particular area of opportunity just prompt a higher proportion of predatory men to lie about being lesbians?)

I have no particular desire to champion or defend lesbians. It’s just, in this repeating issue, they ARE being oppressed, and their oppressors are disgusting shitheads.
