Day 17 at NTC

Far too much stuff today to list in detail. Suffice to say, in the late afternoon we accompanied a walking patrol through Abar Layla, and spent hours doing the job we train to do. The same OC who basically ripped us up two days ago (or was it three? I lose track) noted that he saw a vast improvement. He did better than that, making a minor criticism regarding a point where we were briefly doing rear security, and pointing that out as the only wrong note. Wonderful.

Then, about the time I finished writing up the sitrep, I got notice of an operation being planned for 7:00 AM tomorrow. I sat in on the meetings, helped plan, formulated multiple scripts and had them approved, took them to an interpreter for translating, and didn’t get to bed till an hour past midnight.
