Fandom Snowflake Challenge, Day 3
Pimp your favorite communities, fests or challenges. Leave a comment here saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
This one is going to be much more brief than the two preceding, because I’m considerably less involved in fanfic communities or events than I used to be. This isn’t because I’ve withdrawn, but because so many of the things in which I used to participate have closed down or suspended operations, and I haven’t made a specific effort to find replacements.
As previously noted, along with LiveJournal and Dreamwidth, I have all or most of my stories archived at Archive of Our Own and Twisting the Hellmouth, and AO3 itself hosts a few events in which I’ve found myself involved; additionally, TtH has a “track stories/authors” features that lets me know whenever a new chapter is posted in something I’m following, or a new story by a selected author. That keeps introducing me to fun new things (or continuation of fun old things).
Aside from those, my only current involvement with communities consists of:
1. the annual Circle of Friends Remix (
cof_remix), which I created along with
sroni because we both so enjoyed doing remixes (this in addition to RemixRedux, but before that site fell into inactivity);
2.
summer_of_giles, in which I’ve participated since 2013 (though for some reason I seem to have skipped 2015; must have felt I was busy with too much other stuff around that time, even if I can’t remember what);
3. the Snowflake Challenge itself, which I’ve done only a few times before (2012, 2015, and 2016); not exactly a regular habit, more of a recurring feature.
I keep hearing about Yuletide, keep thinking of giving it a shot, keep not doing so.
And that’s it.
