I must admit I kept waiting for the twist, I expected to find out this was some fantasy Drusilla came up with when she and Angelus were trying to get the ritual out of Giles. It's actually rather gratifying to have it come out happy ending. Your Ethan voice was quite spot on and he's a difficult character to do as he must ride the edge of someone you would never trust, who always has a quick cutting remark at the ready, and yet has a charm that draws you in.
Pulling Rack in was very interesting, as was Dru's interest in Jenny. It's rather appropriate that we never find out what that interest was as Dru's motivations defy all logic. The game scenario was clever and I enjoyed it quite a bit. The solution to the keypad was an inspired bit of fun. As Xander has come up with the right answer from some bit of popular culture before in canon I found that quite in keeping with his character. Truly enjoyed Xander in this story, getting to display his inner hero.
And then there is Giles, who learns how far he will go for love and what lines he will not cross, even though those are the lines his profession calls upon him to cross. Very fine ending there. Even more so as this is before Buffy's 18th birthday. I must admit, I would not mind seeing other stories in this AU.
