Amongst the many other things I enjoy about your stories is that you so often come up with scenarios that I haven’t come across before – no mean feat when you’re playing around with canon. The idea of Dru going after Jenny is wonderful – one magic user playing with another and Angelus playing taunt the Watcher.
As always, so many lovely lines I could quote, but there are just a few that stood out for me.
"She isn’t lost in madness, Rupert, she belongs there. It’s her element, like the sea to sharks." Gorgeous insight into Dru’s state of mind.
“I don’t have to survive. Buffy has to survive, and you have to be there to see that she does. And if all I am is cannon fodder to make that happen, then that’s what I’ll be.” That’s so spot on for Xander, love it.
And finally “The third reason I was willing to work with Ethan? I knew that, if he died, I wouldn’t shed a tear for the bastard.” Now that’s the edge of Giles that made him such an interesting character.
I see part two is up, and I’ll look forward to getting to that later today.
