Yeah, I understand completely what you mean. There is almost nothing they could do to make up for delaying your guests meals so abominably. I'm very sorry that happened.
I think some people come up with American names just to keep us from butchering their actual names. I had a student worker from Iran who I was desperately glad went by Eve because, while I'm sure her actual name is very beautiful, I would have utterly slaughtered it.
