(On the other hand, you’ve been approving of pretty much everything of mine on which you’ve left ANY comment.) sunnyd_lite’s original was a lot more bleak — and her Xander and Marcie nowhere near as close partners — but it was just hard for me to imagine Xander ever refusing a call-back from the people who’d had the most meaning in his life.
And, yes, how Marcie turned out after the events of Season 1 has always been a matter of interest. (I saw one story that had her and Faith stuck in the same cell together. Guess what happened next?) The first I ever encountered, the first that hinted at actual further growth in the character, was Mediancat’s “the Secret Society of Super-Villains”. I think his portrait of her was actually more intriguing than mine … but then, in mine, Xander wound up with the girl yet again, so these things even out.
