No, as one of my Independent series, it’s a standalone, set in some unspecified post-“Chosen” venue (but actually beginning its deviation from canon following “the Gift”). Many such potential futures have been postulated, but I didn’t bind myself to any particular one.

You are correct that it isn’t Willow. I think if you take another look at the end thoughts, Nightshade’s identity comes clearer.

You picked up on that, huh? Maybe Xander is a more rewarding partner, or maybe thRax has more realistic expectations, or maybe thReen isn’t especially sure of the direction her host wants to go (and in which expects copious help).
