The interaction between Faith and Dawn when they ‘first’ met in “Dirty Girls” made it clear that, if only in memories, there was some past history there. When I chose to interweave elements from three of evil_little_dog’s stories, and one of them went clear back to Season 3 (though “Little Sister”, and Dawn’s determination to do something about the end-of-Angel showdown in L.A. — after-the-fact in the original, pre-emptive in my version — truly was the primary inspiration), it made sense that ‘their’ memories of that time would play some part. Honestly, everything else seemed to spring from there.
I’m happy you found the characterization to be plausible and convincing. Faith, especially, has to be played with a delicate hand; she’s so flamboyant in herself, it’s all too easy to go overboard with her. Catch it right, though, and the character is as entertaining in fanfic as she was on the TV screen.
