As with so much of life we see a slice of people's lives without being privy to the beginning or ending. Of course, in this case we know a great deal about th ebeginning but so much is left unresolved. Xander is by no means recovered and buffy is still in a somewhat precarious mental state at he end of the story. Nevertheless, they both continue dedicated to their cause and we leave them knowing that, however screwed up they are they will find a way to battle through it.
I liked Margot and completely understand how her world view tripped her up. Like Wesley before her, I suspect her real difficulty was a lack of field experience. Her approach had a definite classroom feel to it. :)
