[livejournal.com profile] sroni and I are discussing the prospect of putting together a limited round-robin remix: anything from three people (of whom we would be two) to maybe a dozen, each one remixing the preceding. Would anyone on our mutual friends lists be interested in that?

Both of us are primarily Buffy writers, but both us have written in other fandoms and are willing to try something new. Both of us are primarily gen writers ([livejournal.com profile] sroni does a bit more ’ship-writing than I do), and committed non-slashers.

I’m thinking of following the same basic process as RemixRedux: one month to produce a story, a preferable 1,000-word minimum, overall publication/reveal taking place only after all stories have been completed. The only difference would be that there wouldn’t be any mystery about who had remixed which story. (Although, if enough people made the request, I might be willing to work in that part as well.)

If interested, post the following information, and I/we will immediately get back to you.

This is a wonderful idea but I've never been very comfortable with remixing on demand, which seems even more frustrating than a regular challenge. Probably because oddly enough, these ideas just don't generally occur to me while reading fanfic. I've had two occasions where something similar took place, and published one, but those were more missing scenes or continuations than they were remixes. I've read some wonderful works in this genre and have nothing against it, I just don't feel confident working in it.
