I first saw Kolchak on the CBS Friday Night Late Movies when I was growing up in the late 70s. Then in the mid-90s the Sci-Fi Channel re-ran the series with some interviews with Darren McGaven. I've always hoped to do a Kolchak-Buffy crossover but I'm lazy and I've gotten a really good plot bunny for it. A decade before I actually started writing fanfic I did have an idea for a Kolchak-Quantum leap X-Over and I told my cousin about it and he looked at me like I was crazy.
