Stops and starts
Nov. 21st, 2024 12:07 pmAfter a couple of days in Alamogordo, New Mexico (we visited the site of the World’s Largest Pistachio), Susan and I found that the problems with wind had largely abated on the next leg of the trip. Probably our previous troubles had been an unfavorable intersection of geographic layout and transient weather conditions. We did pass through an area where the signs warned of frequent dust storms — one sign read “Possible Zero Visibility” — but nothing like that happened while we were on that stretch of highway.
We intended to stay only a few days at our current location, still in New Mexico, but it’s so nice that we’re thinking of extending for a full month. Our eventual destination is still Tombstone, but this is a really nice place and there are a lot of things to see in the area, so it’s a strong possibility.
We’ll make up our minds after sampling the clubhouse and exercise pool. So far, though, it’s all been good, so the likelihood is high.
