aadler: (RV)

There’s no particular reason I’ve posted nothing over the past six weeks; I just didn’t have anything to say.

After Susan and I left the Fort Moore area, we spent a month at an RV park that doubles as a small working farm. We didn’t do much of anything (though we did visit the museum for the Tuskegee airmen, in Tuskegee itself, and an art museum affiliated with Auburn University). Ate out occasionally, did reading, watched streaming television … our lives are not vividly exciting, and the “RV lifestyle”, for us, basically means doing what we’ve always done, but moving on every few days or weeks.

On that basis, one might wonder why we bother. I wondered that myself, in fact … and a moment’s consideration told me that, living as we do, but in the apartment we had before we declined to renew our lease (because we were already planning to do RV living full-time), would bore me to death in no time at all. Relocating every now and then, while maintaining the same ‘residence’ and continuing most of the same routine, gives us just enough variation to keep things interesting.

Over the last few days, we’ve passed through Alabama and Mississippi, currently in Arkansas. The plan is to stay a month or two in the northwest part of the state, visit a few family members, take care of a few other things. Past that, we’ll doubtless take a look at somewhere more northward as summer approaches.

Everything else will be determined as things work themselves out.
