Travel update

Leaving Arkansas, Susan and I crossed into central Mississippi, and stopped in Yazoo City to visit an aunt I last saw in 2004. And — though my Air National Guard unit did a couple of summer camps in Gulfport — I hadn’t been in this part of Mississippi since high school.

The aunt’s husband is 80 years old, so what did he do earlier this week? Why, he spent the day in a deer stand, of course; what else do they do in Mississippi? And a few days ago we toured the Vicksburg National Military Park with them.

We’ll be here for Christmas … but last week, a very close cousin of Susan’s died unexpectedly, and on the 26th we’ll start for central Texas for the funeral on the 27th.

Probably in the general direction of Alabama after that; at this point, we’re still playing things as they fall.
