Does the political HAVE to be personal?

When the man who baptized your daughter
tells your wife that she’s choosing evil because her political beliefs aren’t the same as his,
something isn’t working right in the world.

My response was to put a curse on him (though I didn’t tell him that):

May you and yours never realize
just how much the open disdain you display toward those whose beliefs don’t align with yours
motivates those despised others to active political engagement
AGAINST what you yourself would choose in all those areas of disagreement.

Well, that, and to pick up some more .223 on the way home.
