Ups and downs
Nov. 9th, 2019 08:00 pmBad news: Susan fell at work last month. Broke her nose in several places, kept overnight for observation, had to have corrective surgery a few weeks later.
Good news: she fell at work (the hospital) and surrounded by her students (nursing students), who formed an instant rapid response team to get her necessary care, hung around to make sure she was doing okay in the ER, and even used her phone to notify me of the situation and keep me up to date on everything till I could get there to see her.
Better news: when our son Kevin saw the photo of herself she’d posted in the family Skype line, he flew here from China to stay with her for a week. (I got to see him too, some, but I was also working through all that time, so it was only in the evenings.)
The basic pattern continues: even when bad stuff happens to us, it seems to happen in the most convenient, easy-to-deal-with way possible.

I can’t believe I went over a month without posting.
